Essay Competition
Concept - The idea of this contest is to create awareness among the students how better they are compared to the underprivileged children who are deprived of basic necessities in life. Lakhs of children are dying every year out of hunger. The hunger eradication programme is conducted by many NGOs across the world, yet, the number of children dying are not getting reduced. Click here to know some of the Startling Facts. Over 7000 Children die of hunger every day. We must appreciate the efforts from the NGOs across the world but at the same time, we need participation from the general public from all walks of life to ensure eradication of hunger and poverty in this country. The contest that we are planning to hold now is to motivate the students to come out with their own ideas and give suggestions to the Government how hunger and poverty can be eliminated over a period of time. So what we are planning to do is to ask students of private schools to come forward and write an essay / report about their understanding of "hunger and poverty" across India and what needs to be done to ensure that no child in India should go to bed hungry. The essay should be written in their own handwriting in white sheet of paper in English or their local language on a given day and the duration of essay writing is 1 hr. In this 1 hr duration, the students are free to write about the research they have done with regard to hunger in India, the problems they have seen or heard and the solutions that they feel should be implemented by the Government and NGOs.
